Our contribution to Biodiversity informatics and biodiversity data science is the Reptile Database and the numerous analyses that resulted from it.
The Reptile Database is the largest and only globally recognized authority for reptile taxonomy. It collects data on names, distributions, types, images, etc. and links to numerous other data sources such as the NCBI Taxonomy database and thus GenBank. It’s recognition by the scientific community has been shown by more than 4000 citations in the scientific literature (according to Google Scholar).
